Meg Thee Stallion and Spiritbox are just the beginning...

In the early 2000s, my two worlds clashed when Linkin Park and Jay-Z teamed up and dropped Numb/Encore on their Collision Course EP.

Cobra has been no different. On its own, I am obsessed with the heavy guitar riffs and switch-up on the lyrics. We have so many songs in rap, in general, that speak to our buying power or how to use our desirability as currency, so I can absolutely appreciate when someone is raw and vulnerable in a genre where we don't usually expect it.

However, the Megan Thee Stallion x Spirtbox crossover amplifies a lot of the beautiful new nuances this new song and era of Meg brings and I can't help but feel like this is just the beginning of a resurgence of a mainstream partnership between rap and rock we've seen time and time again over the decades.

I do think it will look a little different this time as more Black alt-rap and rap-rock artists are putting themselves out there and gaining traction.

What do you think? Are you into the new song by Megan thee Stallion? How do you feel about the collaboration she did with Spiritbox? And what on your opinions on the fusion of rap and rock? Sound of below or on social media.
